Why does our country need to switch effectively to electric vehicles?

Electric vehicles are gaining popularity around the world as cleaner and more sustainable options to traditional gasoline linked IC engines.

In recent years, the Indian government has made significant efforts to promote EV adoption

throughout the country. In 2018, the government announced the faster adoption and manufacturing of electric vehicles (FAME) India scheme, which provides incentives for purchase of electric vehicles.

In addition to government support, the demand for EVs in India is increasing. According to a report by the Society of Manufacturers of Electric Vehicles, the EV market in India is expected to reach by 1.5 million units by 2025. This demand is continuously growing to reduce air pollution and reliance on fossil fuels.

Now, the question is how EV’s are going to help India?

Electric vehicles are advantageous for Indian audience in many ways. Here are some of the pivotal benefits:

  1. Cost effective– EV’s can be more cost effective than traditional gasoline powered vehicles in the long run. They have lower operating costs because they don’t require fuels and have little moving parts that need maintenance. This means that owners can save more money on fuel and maintenance cost.
  2. Convenient– EV’s are easy to charge and maintain, making them convenient for everyday use. They are noiseless ride, making them a pleasant option for commuters.
  3. Eco- friendly– EV’s produce no emissions; making them more eco-friendly. This is an added benefit for country like India, which is already facing huge air pollution in many cities.
  4. Government schemes & subsidies- The Indian government has implemented Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric vehicle (FAME) India scheme, which provides subsidies for the purchase of electric vehicle. This makes affordable to many citizens.

Conclusion- EV’s can be great option for Indian audiences looking for a cost-effective, eco-friendly  and convenient mode of transportation.
